NBC Sports is in full swing promoting the upcoming season of the English Premiere League by putting up a huge billboard of Gareth Bale in Times Square…well, 49th & Broadway. Interesting. But not sure Gareth Bale is who I would have picked as the face of the EPL for NBC Sports. Don’t get me wrong, great player who had a great year, and it’s a hot billboard, but the choice for the face for the U.S./NYC market, that’s another thing. Wonder if the same people who market soccer in the U.S. are the ones who will be marketing the EPL in the U.S.????????????????? By the way, The EPL kicks off on August 17th.
